If mobility is an issue, the the American DJ FS-1000/Sys is a perfect all-in-one solutions.  It's the excellent FS-1000 FollowSpot and an LTS-5 Tripod stand, letting you move the light where you need it.

Compact and advanced in design, the FS-1000 boasts some brand-new features that offer unparalleled brightness and user operating ease. One of these is an innovative new reflector that significantly “magnifies” its 575-watt halogen lamp to produce the same—or even more—light output as a 1,000-watt lamp. This gives the 120-volt FS-1000 the ability to cast an extremely brilliant light beam for its size and price, making it suitable for use in larger clubs as well as major theaters and auditoriums.

Another upgraded feature on the FS-1000 is a new iris design lets lighting technicians execute a full blackout via the unit’s iris control knob, which is conveniently located at the top of the unit. This makes it easy for operators to instantly shut down the followspot right at the exact moment a song or show concludes. The FS-1000 also features dual focusing knobs for precise, full focusing, as well as dimming control on the back of the unit.

For added versatility, the FS-1000’s bright white beam can be converted to color. American DJ’s FS-6C Color Changer (sold separately) attaches directly to the front of the FS-1000. It includes 4 color gels -- red, blue, green and yellow -- that can be used individually or mixed in combinations to achieve a multitude of hues from hot-orange to cool-violet.
