| The universally usable Xa 4000 active 2way power amplifier provides Class H technology and a switching power supply. Xa 4000 power amps combine outstanding audio performance, highest reliability and operational safety allowing easy setup and operation of active 2way systems with a crossover frequency of 140Hz between bass and mid/high cabinets. The power amp’s output capacity of 1100W/4ohms for the bass channel and 900W/4ohms for the mid/high channel allows the connection of up to four 8ohms cabinets per channel. The integrated frequency crossover separates the bass from the mid/high range at 140Hz. The xover is carried out as a modified Butterworthcrossover with a slope of 18dB/octave. The crossover frequency of 140Hz allows the connection of basically any mid/high and bass cabinet. Using 2or 3way fullrange speaker systems " for example DYNACORD F150 " as mid/high cabinets is possible as well. Individual dBscaled level controls for SUB and TOP channels, which are carried out as recessmounted detent potentiometers provide a control range between +6dB and 8 allow combining bass and mid/high cabinets with quite different "efficiency". The frequency response of the Xa 4000 particularly accounts for the requirements of "Live" applications. An integrated LoCut filter attenuates lowfrequency signals such as rumble and subsonic noise protecting the bass cabinets from being damaged by mechanical overload. Optimized for the usage of medium sized and largeformat vented bass cabinets, bass horn speakers, Manifolds and Planar Waveguide horns, the LPN " LowPassNotch filters " bass equalization corrects the transient response of connected bass cabinets. The speaker outputs of the power amps are carried out as SPEAKON connectors (female). The pinassignment of the system connector is: bass channel via pins 1+ and 1, mid/high channel via pins 2+ and 2. The use of 4core speaker cables allows for convenient, quick and easy as well as mismatchproof setup of loudspeaker systems. Separate SUB and TOP Speakonsockets are provided in addition to the system connector. The output signal at these connectors is present at pins 1+ and 1, which allows easy connection of basically any type of speaker system, even if it provides no system cabling facilities. The transmission qualities of the Xa 4000 are simply extraordinary. The switching power supply technology derived from the SWITCHMODE PRECISION Series and the consistent use of ClassH technology provide extensive headroom far above the stated nominal output and conspicuous reduction in weight and leakage power at the same time. The power amplification stages of the Xa 4000 are designed in ClassH technology, so that the power amp provides extremely fast, signaldependent operating voltage switching, which, at the time needed, results in doubling the regular supply voltage. Compared to power amps operated in ClassAB mode, ClassH power amps generate by far less leakage power at identical output. Consequently, the reduction of leakage power or dissipation is synonymous to less waste heat. In other words: energy is used more efficiently! As a result, installing ClassH power amps within rack shelf systems or cabinets is possible with less space between appliances. In addition to that and despite offering identical output, power consumption is a lot less than in ClassAB operation. Being protected against thermal and electrical overload, short circuit and the occurrence of HF/DC at the outputs, the Xa 4000 fulfills even the most demanding requirements of ProAudio touring applications. BackEMFProtection eliminates the risk of the output transistors being damaged by electrical energy backfeed. The power outputs are switched via relay with a time delay during softstart and an inrush current limiter additionally prevents mains fuses from blowing. Mechanical construction and workmanship also comply with the highest precision manufacturing standards. The robust chassis is extremely rigid. Two threespeed high performance fans (off/slow/fast) guarantee outstanding thermal stability at absolute low running noise. Fronttorear ventilation allows troublefree operation even in smaller ampracks. The electronically balanced inputs are carried out via XLRtype connector. A DirectOut for through connecting the audio signal is also provided via XLRMtype connectors. The easily readable LED display provides a quick overview of the power amp’s current operational status. |
