| Peavey introduces its new FX Series mixing consoles, available in 16-, 24- and 32-channel versions with exclusive Silencer mic preamps (.0007% THD), dual digital effects processors and a USB port that provides recording and playback capability via a computer or flash drive. FX Series mixers feature new, Peavey-exclusive technology to enhance live sound reproduction and project studio recording, including Silencer mic preamps, which allow very high gain with low noise and distortion for crystal-clear signal reproduction. The Silencer is a state-of-the-art, low impedance preamp engineered with selected extremely low noise transistors with a wide dynamic range to accommodate any type of microphone or other low impedance source. These mixers also feature a USB port that allows streaming of digital audio directly to a computer or flash drive ("memory stick") with built-in MP3 compression. Users can save to a flash drive via USB port A, or use both USB ports (A & B) to send the stereo output to a computer or hard disc for recording. With this feature, sound engineers and musicians can compress a live performance or rehearsal directly in MP3 format, then upload their work to the Internet or produce their own CD recordings instantly. The four pre-fader auxes per channel facilitate monitoring for live sound or recording, while the two post-fader auxes are ideal for adding effects (those built-in or outboard). These mixers also include dual digital effects processors to allow multiple simultaneous effects assignable to any channel via auxiliaries 5 and 6. The many onboard effects include reverb, delay, compression, de-esser, chorus and gate/expander. The FX Series allows editing of effects with a library for each effect. There are two output processors operable in three modes- L/R stereo, L/R mono and L-mains/R-subwoofer with crossover as well as additional digital processing such as delay, limiter and 1/3 octave graphic or seven-band parametric EQ. FX Series mixers also include three-band EQ with mid sweep, 80 Hz low-cut filters and insert points on all channels; four subgroups with insert points; and headphone output. The 24FX and 32FX models have universal-voltage, switch-mode power supplies (operable between 100 and 240 volts) and BNC lamp outputs. On all models, the last two channels have stereo ¼" and XLR inputs with separate gain controls so a microphone and CD can be used simultaneously without giving up a channel. The stereo input can be assigned directly to the left/right outputs. The Peavey FX Series includes the rack-mountable 16-channel 16FX 24-channel 24FX and the 32-channel 32FX. The FX Series will be available in Q3 2005 from authorized Peavey dealers. U.S. MSRP $TBA. Actual product may differ from photo |
